K&K Business Solutions, Inc. started business in 1991 providing accounting and computer consulting to small and medium sized businesses. The principals, Kerry Whitmire and Kathleen Fernan, have over 30 years experience each in accounting and computer consulting.

Principals
Kathleen Fernan

Kathleen Fernan trained with IBM on Systems Design and Security. She managed the computer facilities at Angeles Corporation with over 50 personal computers and an IBM System 38. She was responsible for the installation of all software, training of employees and was the primary liaison between the programming staff and the users for software changes. After leaving Angeles she went on to work for a software developer as the primary liaison for system design changes and needs analysis for the health care industry. Kathleen is an ACT! Certified Consultant and ACT! Certified Trainer

Kerry Whitmire

Kerry Whitmire began her accounting career with an international publicly held real estate syndicator. From bookkeeper to Controller to Chief Financial Officer to Senior Vice President in 13 years she managed and supervised the property management division, the tax department and all partnership accounting, including Securities and Exchange filings. She became the accounting and legal coordinator for all partnership activities.

After taking a short break to start a family, Kerry rejoined the work force in 1991 by forming K&K Business Solutions with Kathleen Fernan. Kerry and Kathleen had worked together in the past and were convinced they could bring a unique service to individuals and small to medium sized businesses. On per hour basis K&K can provide quality chief financial officer and computerized management information services to our clients.

Kerry’s accounting skills allow her to immediately evaluate any set of accounting records and accounting systems to recommend and implement changes if necessary. Additionally, she can make the best out of a mess!

Kerry’s strong and long suit is accounting, however her specialty is providing the outside professionals with information necessary to cost effectively provide services to their clients under difficult situations such as IRS audits.

Kerry received her Bachelor of Science degree from California State University at Los Angeles and has passed the CPA exam.

Quickbooks sleuth! Arlene works  remotely on both MAC and Windows Quickbooks files.
She has been with K&K for over 10 years working full time keeping clients books squeaky clean. She prides herself on balancing every account and is not afraid to take on a troubled set of books.

When Arlene is not balancing the books, she rides professionally as a barrel racer.
